About My Clients

I work with adults feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, and traumatized. Maybe you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, nervous, afraid, sad, down, or numb. Maybe you’ve also not been eating, sleeping, focusing, or getting things done well. If so, you may know how difficult these can be. I specialize in SFBT, a goal-oriented strengths-based therapy, with adults who wish to better cope with and overcome such challenges. If you’re ready for change and want to be an active part of it, let’s connect!

My Background and Approach

I’ve worked in community and university counseling centers for 17 years and in private practice now for over three years. I’ve provided individual, couples, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, psychosis, ability, substance, eating, anger, family, and relationship issues. I also have extensive training and experience in a wide range of therapy approaches. So, while I often use a solution-focused, goal-directed and strengths-based approach, I also use a other therapies to personalize our sessions and best meet your unique, specific needs and goals. My therapy style genuine, collaborative, empowering, and active. I offer a warm, supportive, and secure virtual space for your comfort and peace of mind. My therapy approach and style instill hope, motivation, and energy from the very start of our work together, fueling progress forward on your path to your goals.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe people are resilient by nature. We have strengths and resources to help us overcome our problems. This belief comes from my experience with disability and trauma. Resilience is common; we are capable of adapting to huge change and healing from horrific experience. The concept of resilience is a big part of the Positive Psychology movement and is a big part of my work. I also value a “big picture” view. One of my favorite quotes is, “You know, out of context, I must seem so strange,“ by Ani DiFranco. I firmly believe a holistic perspective of people, situations, and the world is invaluable in my life and work. There are countless factors that have influenced who we are and how we think, feel, and do. Many of them we’re aware of, some we’re not. Regardless, you’re the expert in your own life. This view keeps me open, curious, collaborative, and ultimately, most helpful.
