About My Clients
My practice is largely geared toward supporting individuals, couples, and families in navigating difficulties and transitions (relationship dynamics, grief, stress, anxiety, and disconnection) as well as those seeking a deeper connection with themselves or others. I have a special interest in supporting male identified folks, emerging adults (16 and up), people in relationships (romantic or otherwise), and parents or caregivers.
My Background and Approach
I offer a warm, inviting, consistent space to focus on whatever it is that is bringing you to therapy. I do this in part by supporting you to name and reflect on your experiences/relationships and consider how they are working for you; and where you can feel more agency within or around them. These conversations are guided by YOUR hopes, values, and dreams.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is important to me in my role to also spend time and attention on attending to the power dynamics and inequities within interpersonal (two or more people) engagement. For example, I am not a ‘blank-slate’ (devoid of thoughts/beliefs/values/experiences) and I do not believe that our work together is without its own context (our shared and different thoughts/beliefs/values/experiences). I believe that taking all of these things into consideration is a necessary part of doing this work ethically. I come to therapy with the hope of supporting people in feeling seen, heard, and valued. These are experiences that I believe have the power to create incredible possibilities as well as incredible challenges when we do not experience them regularly enough. What this looks like changes for everyone, and while I believe I have a lot of experience in supporting a variety of people, I do not think I know what is best for you. I will depend on you to help me in learning what works best for you.
