The fast paced world we live in today can be overwhelming - between school, jobs, obligations, relationships with others, and even our own expectations of ourselves. Managing everything around us can be exhausting, and it can result in problems with anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, and just the feeling of nothing going right. I can help - I focus on strength-based strategies that will provide tools to find more balance in your life.
My Background and Approach
I provide a safe space for my clients to talk about what they are having a hard time with and to explore their strengths and goals as a way to have a more balanced and meaningful life. I use a strength based approach in my work with clients and explore strategies and tools to foster healthy coping strategies - whether it is finding a better method of managing stress, learning to ask for help from others, dealing with life transitions, or building and having better relationships. I use a variety of evidenced based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). In addition to providing psychotherapy, I also provide school observations and consultations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe in the power of client-centered therapy and collaboration in the therapeutic process. While I am the clinical expert and can provide knowledge and strategies, you as the client is the expert on yourself - only you will know if something works or doesn't, and you will decide what your goal in therapy is. Our focus in sessions will be on your lived experiences, your successes, and your challenges.
